IMMERSIVE NEO-CLASSICAL CONCERT IN 4D SOUND, PERFORMED NOVEMBER 2021 AT THE VENUE MONOM, BERLIN
MONOM is an experimental performance venue and state of the art spatial sound studio located inside Funkhaus— a historical building in east Berlin which from 1956 to 1990 served as national radio station in the former DDR. With 48 omnidirectional speakers suspended throughout the venue and 9 powerful subs submerged beneath an acoustically transparent floor, the 4D sound system in MONOM functions as a spatial instrument, allowing artists through an integrated hardware and software system to express their ideas with a new dimensionality. During sessions the audience is encourage to move around in the space to experience the sonic movement. The studio of MONOM has 16 sound pillars placed symmetrically throughout the space. Each pillar has built-in Bloomline Omniwave Pro V1 speakers installed at 0, 2 and 4 meter’s height. The subwoofers beneath floor level are Eminence LAB15 Custom subwoofers.
